DESCRIPTION:The venue for this rally is Bassenthwaite Sailing Club (https://www.bassenthwaite-sc.org.uk/) which is located at the western end of Lake Bassenthwaite in Cumbria (CA13 9YD)\, not far from the village of Bassenthwaite. The Club is situated on the shores of the lake and has a panoramic view across the water towards Skiddaw. The facilities offered by the club are excellent. \nAs with all our extended rallies this year you do not have to commit to attending for the full three days. Saturday and Sunday will involve the usual racing; members are also welcome to just free sail and not race if they wish on these days with the advantage of safety boat cover. \nMonday will involve free sailing and potentially a sailing cruise up and down the lake depending on conditions. \nIf you haven’t received a personalised invite then please contact the rally secretaries using the form below.

This has been a popular meet in the past and is the only rally where we sail on tidal waters. \nThe provisional programme for the rally is: \n(Note – all days/times provisional and subject to weather) \nFriday 8 August\nArrivals and setting up. Boat rigging at sailing club\n8pm – Welcome followed by informal social gathering at Bell Caravan Park Rally Field – bring your folding chairs. (Will be outside so obviously weather dependant) \nSaturday 9 August\n10:15am Briefing at Chichester Yacht Club \n10:30am Access to water for Racing or Free sailing\nSafety boat cover provided for all boats within designated area (during race periods) \n4:15pm AGM To be held at St James Community Centre\, St James Church\, Church Lane\, Birdham\, Chichester\, PO20 7HG \n6:30 Bring your own/arrange delivery of takeaway and eat in communal group at Bell Caravan Park Rally Field – bring your folding chairs. SUMMARY:Ullswater
DESCRIPTION:A new venue for a Tinker Meet (which we know some of you have already visited and highly recommend) on the shores of Ullswater in the Lake District. Launching and recovery of boats is available direct from the campsite. For those not camping\, parking and launching is available for a fee\, but also needs to be booked in advance. \nDetails of the site are available at its website which can be viewed by following this link: Waterside Campsite \nIt is proposed to have 4 full rally days\, Friday 16 May to Monday 19 May 2025 inclusive. Ullswater allows the use of engines so motor cruises a well as sailing cruises are feasible. There are a selection of venues around Ullswater that provide suitable cruise destinations for a day out. We also propose to hold some races using the normal format and free sailing will be available as required. When a safety boat is required we will have to take it in turns it operate and provide the necessary cover. \nThere are some Glamping Pods and a cottage for rent at the site\, if anyone is interested\, please let us know and we will make further enquires. \nThere are B & B and hotels close by for those not wishing to camp.
